Bored Marathon Part II

Wally couldn't sleep the other night and was watching some late night TV when he came across something even more boring than the NFL Draft: a show on ESPN2 involving NFL players in a Madden Football tournament. So basically you are watching a bunch of numbskulls play video games. Wally would rather hang with Phil Liggett in the restaurant on the way up to Le Mont Ventoux.

The Bored Marathon

The Sunday Styles section of the New York Times has a funny article on men who spend a weekend in April watching the NFL Draft and the impact on the women who love them:

Wally's co-benefactor recalls the three times in life when the NFL Draft was interesting: during law school exams, particularly when the alternative was studying for Property during first year. Which choice would you make: Mel Kiper Jr. or Blackacre?

Wally has one burning question about the NFL Draft: will his Uncle Mikkael be watching now that he is a devoted sports fan?

Wally's advice - go for a bike ride and, if you need some sports drama, watch Cyclism Sundays on OLN instead of the talking heads on ESPN. Unless you're studying for Property, of course!

He's back!

Wally's editor has been traveling and working on the attic, so Wally has taken the time to recharge and get ready for baseball season. Plus Wally's been watching some hoops. Speaking of hoops, Wally was disappointed to see George Mason lose, since they also have a green mascot (why is question for another day), but Florida's mascot is also green. So Wally will be rooting for the Gators on Monday night. And it's Opening Day! Wally is thinking of running for the Senate on the platform that Opening Day should be a national holiday. What do you think? It could be called "National Pastime Day" in honor of both Major League Baseball and the NCAA Championship game.
